Greece to Sell of Islands

I am getting conflicting reports from newspapers around the world about the state of Greece’s many islands. Recent articles in the Guardian have reported that Greece is selling up to four of their private islands through Private Islands Online. However, the Guardian recently retracted this statement stating that it was inaccurate

Scott Island, British Columbia

Just three miles across the Stuart Channel from the Vancouver Island town of Chemainus, Scott Island is a tree-covered, 5.26-acre gem, easily accessible by boat, floatplane, or helicopter. A regular ferry service from Chemainus links to nearby Thetis Island, from where a quick boat trip then gets you to Scott. Amenity-wise, anything not readily available at Chemainus can be found in the larger city of Nanaimo, population 70,000, about 20 miles to the north. Scott Island’s main residence is a modern, 4,541-square foot, bi-level home with five bedrooms and six bathrooms, an octagonal great room/entertainment area, an open and airy kitchen/dining/family room, and a separate living room with a brick fireplace.

Futuristic Floating City

If global warming continues and scientists predictions are correct are many of our children and great grand children may find themselves living on self-sustaining floating island cities. One of the newest floating islands is a complex proposed by the Shimzu corporation. This completely self sufficient floating ecotopia that is covered in vegetation, generates its own power, grows food, manages waste, and provides clean water. Designed for the equatorial pacific, presumably near Japan, the island is a concept for a series of floating islands with eco skyscraper cities, where people live and work

Sand Dollar Cay

A few days ago I featured the $111M Cave Cay, a 222 acre piece of paradise in the Bahamas. Today I thought I would feature Sand Dollar Cay, decidably a more affordable island in the Bahamas Listed at $7.2M Sand Dollar Cay is a fabulous 24-acre private island situated in the beautiful and almost undiscovered Berry Island chain of the Bahamas. Sand Dollar Cay basks in natural beauty, peace and seclusion, yet offers easy accessibility

Cave Cay: Bahamas

For decades now the Bahamas has been “the” destination for anyone looking for a private island. It’s proximity to the US along with agreeable purchase and development laws make it the ideal destination. Of course this desirability is often reflected in the price as is the case with Cave Cay. Listed at $110 Million Cave Cay is 222 acres of pure paradise. Although the price may be steep rarely does an island with the attributes of Cave Cay become available.
